No One Said It Would be Easy

Just an everyday blue collar guy who loves his family. I once was on Twitter. I had a tweecwet life on there. I tell stories. I ramble. I play guitar and I even talk about my life once in awhile.

My favorite part of the week

Every night when I go in I have to spend the first half hour making my rounds. My rounds consist of checking my work email, going around to all the machines I’m responsible for and asking all of the operators how things are running. There’s always a little chit chat and some banter with the one’s who speak English. (Side note: I really need to learn Spanish. ) then I do what I’m scheduled to do for the evening.

Sunday nights are different though. I basically have to make the same rounds but the machines are my first priority, E-mail comes later. The machines have been sitting for at least a day depending on if we worked Saturday or not. I have to top the fluids off, warm them up a little and lube their ways. I know it sounds kinky. I talk to them a little though and ask them how their weekend was just to let them know I care.

There’s another fellow here every Sunday. He works 2nd shift which typically starts on Monday but he comes in for 2 hours every Sunday just to start the furnaces for heat treat. Also not as kinky as it sounds. He’s a short little guy, shorter than me. He doesn’t speak English, he has a bit of an overbite and he’s always smiling. We always acknowledge each other with a “que pasa amigo” and when we respond which isn’t every time it’s a “mui bien”

That’s my typical Sunday night starting work. Thanks for joining the tour. I hope it was enjoyable for you.
